This picture has a very visual and emotional story line. The subject is clearly divided which makes her feel empty and overwhelmed by her surroundings. She might be in a stage of hypnotism or defeat. Trying to escape from the world she sits upon.

The artist uses diagonal composition to divide through the subject. And uses dark and light to contrast the subjects emotion. Also used cold and warm tones to further separate the two poles of states.

The posture and her figure is leaning towards the wall. It is a resting posture, however it seems uncomfortable. She is pressing part of her weight upon the side. We cannot really tell if she is backing up or sliding down. But both are equally depressing. Her eye line is unclear. But from her lips, it can be assumed she is apathetic to what is in front of her.

This portrait is overwhelming with feelings and I think the artist did a magnificent attempt to create this atmosphere.

I'd love to hear the concepts of this picture. If the artist would like to share.
